Kildalkey Community Alert Scheme
Page Under Construction
Community Alert was founded in 1984, by Muintir na Tire in
partnership with an Garda Síochána, as a voluntary Crime Prevention, Crime Reduction programme
for all residents in rural Ireland but particularly for older and vulnerable people in our communities.
Kildalkey Community Alert Scheme was launched on Tuesday 12th April 2005 and is a community safety program organised under the auspices of Kildalkey Community Initiative (KCI) in association with An Garda Siochana.
Supt. Christopher McCarthy of Trim Garda Station attended at the launch.
Our aim is to make the community of Kildalkey a safer place
- for our neighbours
- for our children
- for our older citizens
- for our vulnerable people
- for us
- for our families
- for our homes
The best crime prevention method ever invented is A GOOD NEIGHBOUR. Neighbours working together in co-operation with the Garda Siochana can make one of the best crime-fighting teams around.
The community's part in the Kildalkey Community Alert Scheme is to observe and report criminal activity in our locality - hopefully before the crime takes place. The Garda Siochana also, of course, play its part in detecting and apprehending criminals and together the Community and the Gardai can reduce the opportunity for crime.
The Garda Siochana's role in Kildalkey Community Alert scheme is to encourage and assist in our formation and to instruct our members in crime prevention techniques and other safety measures.
The individual members of a Community Alert Scheme are the people who give Community Alert its real meaning. Their day-to-day interest and awareness is the key factor which determines how well the scheme works.
So get to know your neighbours and lets all work together towards a better quality of life.
A life without fear. A life without crime
